Hi, I am going to get a samsung evo 850 ssd to use as a boot drive and was planning to get a 2tb seagate barracuda  ST2000DM001 for games and storage. I would like to know if this hdd is good, because I have seen that they have a high fail rate, but I also see that many people use them and recommend it. Also it is cheap

thank you very much

The statistic for high failure rates most like come from BackBlaze, which should be taken with about 20 Tones of salt.

They're good. I have two myself that have been running for around 4 and 2 years without any issues.

if you have the money for a high end ssd you might have it for a better hdd. as for the failure rate, that was a problem back in 2006 or something like that it isnt much of a problem anymore

The only issues with failure rates was a few of the 3TB models and 1.5TB to a lesser extent. Their 1, 2 4 and above TB models have pretty much always been okay.
