GPU and PSU upgrade

I have written them in the edited first post, as you can see.

CX, VS and CS PSUs are generally crappy - I'd suggest a SeaSonic S12II + R9 380 (if that is overbudget, step down to a 950)

Hello everybody,

I plan on upgrading my GPU and PSU of my PC, with a budget of 300 Euros (I live in Greece). You can see the specs and PCPP link in my Profile but also later in this post. I was thinking about the GTX 950 for a gpu, which is in the price of about 200 euros and the corsair PSU CXM Series 600 W 80+ Bronze CX600M Modular. What do you think? I plan to get this pack for my nameday or something like that, generally in summer. Also, I plan on selling my current GPU for about 50 euros.

PCPP link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2zHTXL

Best regards, Morgan Freeman, AKA slanensis.

Sorry, didn't refresh.

The 950 would be a good choice, but that PSU is utter trash for gaming and beefy music production. Get an evga g2 or anything SeaSonic/XFX.

@don_svetlio The R9 is a bit overbudget, somewhere in the range of 40-60 euros. I also chose this card, because it has a small form factor, and since my MOBO is micro-ATX, I dont knowq if it will fit. I will saearch for that power supply.

@ronstig I will also check for that PSU.

Thanks for your replies!

Could also go for a used GPU - 7970s go for cheap these days

Seeing the power Supply Seasonic S12II-620 cost around 90 euros. I cant get used stuff from the internet since most of the countries have extremely high taxes for electronics, and comig here to greece. and if I do, it will take months to arrive because of Cpital controls. So, used is out of the question.

So, I tried using a piece of paper to simulate the MSi R9 380's dimensions, and it did fit, tho it was a tight fit. It takes 2 and a half slots altogether. Though, as it does go really near the cpu fan, and the memory slots, I dont know if the card will face towards the cpu cooler, or in the other direction. Files attached are the motherboard downloaded from msi, My pc with the paper r9 380, and a photo of my pc with my current card, for scale, if you need it.

Thanks for helping!

Sure? And also, the PCI slot next to the GPU will be unavailable because of the size of the GPU?

Hello,

Sorry for asking -again-, so my currnt gpu is running off 1 6 pin connector. The msi r9 380 runs off 2 8 pin connectors. My PSU is not modular, and since the gpu will be the first to upgrade i dont know what to do. Any proposals?

Again, sorry for asking so many questions! I am sort of a newb in upgrading.
