Anyone doing custom heatsinking (ie: with thermal pads for instance, to a hunk of heatsink material) for M.2 SSDs?  Water-cooled M.2 SSD?  Seems to me that the thermal throttling is caused because the M.2 form factor doesn't lend itself to heatsinking with the case as is typically accomplished on 2.5" form factor SSDs.  That and the higher speeds PCI-E M.2 can operate under.

One problem with water cooling an m.2 ssd is that you can only really reach half of the

You could run a heatsink helow the board to reach the chips. Just put some plastic in between so it doesn't short anything.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

I was wondering the same myself.

My 950 pro sits directly under my gpu's and I've noticed they run hotter after putting it in.

Closest thing I've seen is this-

Higher frame rate over higher resolution.

Have a thin layer of copper go all the way around the M.2 with some thermal pads for protection, so only the screw notch and the pins is left uncovered. Then mount it in place and mount some small heat sinks or something like a small ram/mosfet water block on it.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.
