Alienware software for windows 7 on windows 10?

Hey guys,

I bought an m11x r2 for 160 and I'm pretty happy with it. The moron before me got rid of the legit windows 7 it came with and put an unactivated version of windows 8. I through a legit version of windows 10 on there and everything seems to be working great on it. One thing I am unsure about is all the alienware crap.

The m11x isn't fully supported by windows 10, and I'm surprised I didn't run into more problems. One thing I don't have is the ability to control the lights and the touchpad. I can download the windows 7 command center and what not, but I'm just wondering if that will mess up the computer or something. You guys think it would be ok to download the windows 7 version of the command center even though I'm running 10?

Thanks.

it *should* be fine, there may be hitches here and there, but i doubt it'll be any "functional" problem.

I'm just trying to not brick the thing. I'm only worried because the file name from dell is very similar to the bios file I downloaded from them and I'm wondering if the command center is more of a motherboard thing than a hard drive thing so to speak.

The BIOS is not stored on your computer hard drive. You wont' brick your system by changing or upgrading an OS.

The worst that will happen is that some of the special Dell software for your laptop might not work, or might require to run under compatibility mode to make it work, or might require you to get the latest version from Dell website.
