Constant Blurriness

So I am running a Cannon 7D mark II with a shoulder rig and a 24mm-105mm lens. When I am completely wide at 24mm everything seems a bit blurry and washed out if it is far away. Zoom in about half way and the colors get darker and there is some better contrast and less washout. Also the focus is on point with everything crispy clear. But the background is still blurry. Not blurry like f stop but blochy like a low res camera. I am shooting 30 FPS at 1920X1080 MOV so no compression. I am at 4.0 to 7.1 and went from auto to manual and it was still there. Manual the ISO was around 500 and shutter speed was 800-1000. I am also using auto focus which is amazing on the 7D Mark II. I just got the camera so I am still playing around but I think it is a combination of auto aperture, the lens, and ISO.

Just keeping this here as a
