Hey guys,

I picked up a laptop for a great deal and I'm in a bit of a fix. The laptop came with windows 7 premium and the moron before me decided to throw an unactivated version of windows 8 on it instead. So when I got the laptop, I cleared out the non legit version of windows 8 with an activated legit version of windows 10. The only problem I have is that the laptop isn't fully supported by windows 10. It does little weird things that I'd like it not to do, and I think putting windows 7 back on it would be the best bet. Also, the COA sticker on the bottom is almost completely worn off.

When I was installing windows 10, I noticed that there was a reserved, recovery partition by dell that was about 40mb big. I am wondering, if I use the dell recovery partition to reset the computer back to factory settings, will it be reset to windows 7 as it was when it came from the factory? Or will it just do a factory reset on windows 10?

Also, if it does do a factory reset to windows 7, will I need to provide the COA product key again for windows, or is that key somewhere in that recovery folder?

If anyone could help me out or shed some light, that would be great.

Thanks
