Price Range: $300-550. Looking for a relatively lightweight laptop that won't feel like I'm carrying a brick when traveling in between lectures. I also plan on using this for some gaming; I'm not too crazy on graphics because I tend to prioritze enjoyable framerates and at this price range I'm not expecting resolutions probably above 1366 x 768 . Games I usually play are League of Legends, CS:GO, some Indie Games and the most graphically demanding game that I've downloaded is Blade and Soul. Thanks again!

Ya, that's thing.  If you want performance you usually need to deal with the weight.

I'd look around for a laptop with at least a 3320m in it.

I was looking at the Acer Aspire E5. Not sure if this is a good choice or not. My current laptop would get destroyed by this but its only .1 pound(s) heavier than the Acer model. What do you think?

Price: $500

CPU: I5-5200U

GPU/VPU: 940m

HDD: 1TB

Memory: 8GB

Weight: 5.2 pounds

For HP isn't the DVs right?  As for Acer, I didn't think that was a bad model.

HP's whole Pavilion line is tosh. Acer - pretty much anything outside the Predator line

Then I'd suggest OP just go with an Elitebook for that much. :/

Or something used - a T430 can be had for 500$

You can get a used EliteBook for under 300.  But, a Thinkpad isn't bad either.

Yup, ThinkPads can double as a weapon and chopping block
