Well it's not going to be released until 2015. So either alpha or beta.

They're using a modular release system, releasing parts at a time.

Hanger Module is out already.

  • The Dogfighting Module (estimated December 2013) will allow a limited number of early backers to playtest the ship combat portion of the game against other players.
  • The Social/Planetside Module (estimated March–April 2014) will allow backers to experience the 1st person non-combat planet based environment, consisting of various shops and bars.
  • Squadron 42/Singleplayer Alpha (estimated August 2014) - little is known at this stage, but it is understood that this module will allow backers to try out the branching single player campaign (known as Squadron 42).
  • Persistent Universe/Beta (estimated end of 2014/early 2015) - again little is known at this stage, but it is understood that this module will allow backers to access a Beta version of the massively multiplayer persistent universe (known as Star Citizen).
  • Final Release (estimated Q1 2015) - Full commercial release of both Squadron 42 and Star Citizen.

You can only look at your ships and its not all ships i got the $65 package that makes sure i get into Alpha and Beta and gave me a 300i.  I wanted the Cutlass but just too expensive.  If they have a sale i may get the cutlass cause i wanna be a pirate!

I'm thinking about getting Rear Admiral once I save up.

I'm kinda hoping they'll have some sort of ship sale and if they do i'll just add the Cutlass to my account.

Your better off buying a small package say like mine that makes sure you get into Alpha and Beta and then build on that.

Well first off, the $30 package does not include alpha or beta. It is only a discount on the finished game. The $40 package, digital mercenary, is the cheapest package that includes alpha and beta.

If you get it now, you will be able to download the hangar module where you can run around and look at/ interact with your ships without taking off or starting the engines. You can also play around with and customize the ship's guns and stuff.

Then in November/December we will get a dogfighting module which lets you fly ships you pledged for and get a feel for combat against either A.I. or other players.

Early next year is the planetside module, which lets you walk out of your hangar and explore what a typical planetside location will look like, interact with NPCs, look at shops, and generally take in the art and atmosphere of the thing.

Then some time next year is a more elaborate alpha presumably with all these things with enabled takeoff and landing and one full star system.

Then we get Squadron 42, which is the single-player story driven side of the game.

Finally, the last step before release is a 'bigger picture' public universe beta. Where you should be able to try out stuff like trading, factories, mining and everything around that.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.
