Moto X pure or GTX 970

Riptide*

I currently have a 750ti and a moto e from 2014 and I'm asking this now because in about a month is my birthday. For my school (I'm currently in highschool) almost everything is done electronically and my parents don't want to buy me a laptop because i have a desktop so they don't see the point of having 2 computers. So is it worth upgrading my phone now and wait for pascal or yolo it and upgrade my gpu now and get a new phone for Christmas. Also at the time of making this the moto x is 350 not 400*

Full specs of my comp

8 gb 2400mhz ddr3 ram

EVGA 750ti SC

i7 2600k at 4ghz

Corsair CX 750m

Some asus motherboard I forgot the model name for

(i mainly play csgo but i want to stream on twitch and or get a 144hz monitor)

A 390 It's faster has better DX12 support and will save you money on a free-sync vs G-sync 1080p 144hz TN display

Dunno about your phone situation but there are a ton of pretty solid phones for around $200 Stuff like the Zenfone 2(x86 version)

Free-sync $269 also comes with VGA and HDMI

G-sync $350 only has 1 display port port.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Depends on where you do most of your gaming. If you do it more often at home, go for the GPU. Or the otherway around.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600k 4.4GHz | Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z270F Gaming | Cooler: Cryorig H7 | RAM: GSkill Ripjaws V 8GB 2x4 3200 MHz | GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X | PSU: Seasonic G-550w 80+ Gold Certified, Semi Modular | Storage: 250GB Samsung 850 EVO, 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue | Case: NZXT S340 Elite (Black/Red) | Monitor: BenQ XL2411 144hz | Keyboard: Corsair STRAFE RGB Cherry MX Silent | Mouse: Corsair M65 Pro RGB

I'd like to make a Chemistry joke, but all the good ones ARGON. *nudgenudge *winkwink
