Hey there guys, I just got my internet set up, and I used the Netgear N300 (DGN2200) as a modem/router. This has been causing me a number of problems, first where the internet was supplying a 1.5mbps speed, but I could only get 0.12mbps or so in my devices. I fixed this up a bit by changing the wifi channel from auto to 11. This helped it a bit, but there are still a number of disconnections, if anyone could help me with this, please do.

The other thing is my youtube speed. For some reason, when I watch youtube, the streaming keeps stopping to buffer. I don't know why, I am getting 1.5mbps speed when downloading anything else, on steam/origin, max speed, I browse the web fine. Everything is good except youtube. I have tried to clear my chrome cache and history and such but this has not seemed to work. Could someone please help me out with this? Thanks!!

What speed are you paying for?

But they say "up to" 20mbps :/ Can't argue with that. But still, the main problem is the youtube streaming. Any idea how to fix this!?

This is stupid. Up to 20Mbps? You could be getting 1Mbps and the statement is still true. You should change ISP. What browser are you using when going on YT?

Try this https://www.google.com/get/videoqualityreport/

I believe there's a change location which changes the server you're connected to

Yeah I know.. It's ridiculous, but most of us just live with it. Australia I guess. I'm using google chrome. I've cleared all cache and browsing history and such. Still facing the problem!

I'm guessing here, but maybe the youtube server in Australia is really slow. I'm just guessing, is this the first time it ever happened?

If you are using a direct link, then just make sure the dish is well positioned.

What is your ISP, because it could just mean that you might have to switch

But everything is just fine! I can download things at 1500KB/s. It's so weird. Is there something to do with youtube itself? And if I didn't mention, I am trying to watch 1080p videos, 360 loads quite fast. But mine should be able to handle 1080 right!?

720p is a good middle ground. Do you normally watch 1080 at your uni?

Oh okay, I normally watch 4k(2160p) at uni, they have crazy speeds there LOL, like 100mbps, sometimes reaches 300+mbps haha

Oh wow geez. Even 720p stops to buffer. FML
