Aida64/CPU-Z showing wrong bus clock?

Go to solution Solved by Vaub,

Well, after a day of trying to solve that and 5m after I post a "help me" thread... I found the culprit! (yes, I know... fail)

Maybe it'll be useful to other people so I won't delete it.

The culprit was Hyper-V. I have no idea why, but that thing made my Task Manager / CPU-Z and Aida64 showing wrong cpu clock values.

I installed it as part of the Windows Phone 8 SDK.

Anyway, time to do a Windows 8 virtual machine for dev so I don't have to double check my overclock settings and question my OS stability   :P

Hello,

A few months ago, I bought a Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H along a i7-4770k as my first Intel rig since a crappy P4  ;)

Anyway, my cpu is running strong and stable at 4,6Ghz@1,25V under water and everything seems fine except both CPU-Z and Aida64 are reporting cpu bus clock ranging from 94-98Mhz (full load or not) while the BIOS is showing a full 100mhz. I naturally said : Well, the BIOS must be true since it's directly speaking to my cpu.

However, I did a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro RTM two days ago and the clock were at 100mhz!!! But, it didn't lasted long. This morning, without any reason, they're back at ~96Mhz in monitoring programs... what is happening?????

I tried every power-saving feature (on/off), PLL, LLC, etc. and nothing seem to change  :(

Also, Cinebench results are down too when cpu-z says 97Mhz! I have no idea what is happening.

Rig Info:

Intel i7-4770k

Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H @ F7 BIOS

Corsair Dominator Platinum 2x4Gb 2000Mhz 10-10-10-27 1T 1.5V [stable]

Thank you for the help!
