Can't copy and paste stuff on USB drive?

Hey all, I have some important documents on my USB drive and I'm trying to copy and paste them onto my desktop... But whenever I try to copy and paste something onto the desktop, nothing happens. (I click paste and literally nothing pops up)

 

I can copy and paste files no problem on the desktop, but only if they're not from the USB. Also, I can't drag things onto my desktop from the USB. What gives?

Have you refreshed the desktop by clicking your background and hitting F5?

What about the Desktop library in file explorer?

Both didn't work

 

I noticed I can drag smaller files just fine, it's just this certain folder that is acting up (it's only 1Gb though?)

Does it work with other computers?

I've restarted a bunch, still doesn't work

 

I doubt it's this PC, I think it did it with my last motherboard too. Maybe the USB drive is going bad? If so I'll try to get a new one, they're really cheap and it has important passwords and such

Tried using the hotkeys? Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V?
