So I just came back from some holidays and Bought some ram, It is technically supposed to be compatible with my Mobo but when I boot I get this error message: Bad_pool_header, I know this error is due to faulty ram - corrupted drivers. Mobo - P7h55-m LE New Ram - Ripjaws g.skill F3-8500CL7d-8GBRL I have tried both sticks of ram and changed the slots, I think either my ram is incompatible or I need to manually install the ram in the bios. I Will try turning of ram shadowing and caching but I cant seem to acces the bios. I am currently on my old set of ram. Thanks, I really need help

I tried booting of 1 stick, and it gave me the option to boot in safe mode but it did not work, just crashed. When I boot on both sticks just gives me the bad_pool_header error. Do you think turning of  shadowing and caching will change anything?

so it posted with 1 stick, did you try the other stick? crashed while going into safe mode might be just windows being weird `-` or corrupted

Ok, I managed to get in the bios while 1 of the new sticks was installed, I manually set speed and voltage for ram but still gives me these 2 errors on boot IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and the BAD_POOL_HEADER. I tried both sticks in the mobo and it did not even post.

I built a budget gaming rig for a friend and used an i3-530 and the RAM I had on hand ended up not being compatible with the older motherboard. It was still DDR3 and the speed was set correctly in the BIOS and everything.

I could stay in the BIOS for hours and not have anything happen but whenever I'd try and boot Windows it would blue screen or just hang completely. Tested the RAM with Memtest 86 and it would always get hung up at the same time so I thought the RAM was defective. Tried it in a newer computer and it worked fine.

So basically My mobo is too old for this ram? I do you think I should just stick with my 4gb and forget about the 60€ I spent on ram or should I upgrade my mobo and cpu as they are very old?

If you have another newer system to test the RAM on I'd do that to make sure it's not just defective RAM.

If it works on a different system then its just not compatible. If you still want to upgrade the amount of RAM just look up the QVL (Qualified Vendor List) for supported memory on that particular motherboard and you should be able to find some that works that has the amount you want.

Just really depends on if you have money for a new setup and what you would want to upgrade too. Right now you might as well go back to the old setup since it worked. Since you have the ram you could at lest upgrade the cpu and motherboard for 200-300 usd, and still be in the 600W PSU.
