Write down your product key, download Windows 10, put it on a USB or use the installer.exe, then if the product key doesn't work use the contact support app and they'll give you a new one.

I only have 8GB of RAM, and at the desktop almost none of that is being used. I would say an antivirus or a multitude of other programs that run in the background could cause this, but with 16GB, it'd take some effort to download enough crap to use up all that. If you have an old copy of Windows (2 years old or older) then Windows is known to do this after a few years of using the same copy. I say buy a copy of Win10 and start fresh. That'll be a sure fix to that issue.

~` please , don't let my whole life burn down `~

- why can't i just focus right now? -

Do you have the pagefile enabled? If its off, the OS has nowhere to dump unused memory and ram just fills up after a while.

If you upgraded to Windows 10 then you won't need a key. It's held on Microsoft's servers and will be activated when you connect to the internet.

If you change your computer hardware then your Windows key will become invalid. Not all hardware, just the main components.

I had a Killer 2100 (old I know) and the software didn't work well with Windows 10 so I removed it for now I until I get time to mess with it.

You don't need a page file if you shut your computer down and have enough ram.

I don't use a page file and have not for years (Vista times). Never ran into a problem as I shut my computer down when I'm not using it.

It's not a race to the bottom.

Delete/stop using that Chrome junk spyware.  Its obviously creating a memory leak and/or utilizing excess resources.

Seriously, look at how many Chrome processes are running.  That's the culprit.  Its pretty obvious.

IE11 and/or Edge work fine on my computer with only 4gb of RAM on Windows 10.

Call Chrome a spyware and use IE/Edge. topkek.
