What CPU you looking at using?  What are your needs for storage and PCI-E devices?  Networking? 

 

The spectrum of motherboards runs the gambit from cheap "entry-level" motherboards with low-power chips, to dual socket LGA2011 with 10gig-E interfaces and 16 RAM slots.  Pretty hard for us to tell you which you should buy without more information on what you intend to do with it.
