What is better to have ram placed to a1 and b1 slots or a1 and a2 (or b1, b2) slot?

To use dual channel you usually need to use A1 and B1. (typically slot 1 and slot 3 with 1 being closest to the cpu).

For dual channel operation ram need to be placed in every other slot so place one stick one one end then skip a slot and place the next one.
