Need help with ram.

Hi im having a problem because on my current pc i have 2x4 which is 8gb of ram

and i want to add some more and i don't know what to buy?

 

2x4 ram or 2x8 which will be more but i don't know if that will cause any problems

what cpu and motherboard you're using?

if its dual channel, 2x4 or 2x8 will be fine

if its quad channel, i recommend get another 2x4gb for quad channel speed

2x4gb for 16gb ram or

2x8gb for 24gb ram

 

get 24gb if you need it, i know i dont lol
