What you could do is buy a 120GB SSD for the operating system and use your 1TB for storage, Which is exactly what I am doing now, to reserve your OEM Windows 7 install use a program to Clone the HDD to the SSD,

Ok, If you can make another partition on the 1TB move all of your files ex. Documents, Videos, Music, to that partition and then copy the partition that has the Windows 7 Install on it,

Or... plug in a USB drive - move all your data to that. Them image the HDD - clone to the SSD - make the SSD boot ok. Then with the HDD as a secondary drive, you just delete all the folders on it (or format it clean since you have all your data backed up on the USB drive) you don't need, like Windows, Program Files, etc. Then copy data from USB back to you HDD.

If you image the drive correctly you should be able to boot from the SSD just like you would the 1TB Hard drive, you may need to set it to boot from the SSD in the BIOS of your motherboard

Whaler_99 had another way of doing it, it would probably be easier aswell,
