Inspired by Linus' video on making a gaming computer from an old server (planning to use it as a game server), I bought a Tyan Tank server board (specifically: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/272181383260?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true) and have not been able to get it working. I immediately get the FF code when I power on the psu, meaning that it is not posting correctly. I have tried resetting the cmos, reseating all the ram, and reseating other plugs. I have the 24pin, 8pin CPU, both CPU fans, VGA, and Sata cable. The only thing I can think of (besides a dead board or CPU(s)) is that there are 2 extra 4 pin connectors on the sides of the 24pin. They are differently colored than the rest of the essential connectors, and I have not been able to get it working if I plugged one into another PSU. Any ideas/help would be super appreciated, as I really don't want to return it!  Thanks!!

Yes, those extra 4-pin connectors power one CPU (likely CPU0), as does another 8-pin connector further down along the edge of the mainboard (likely for CPU1). Plug those to power and you should be good to go. The 4-pin connectors look to be the older P4 (i.e. Pentium 4) style power connectors, so you'll probably need some LP4 to P4 (4-pin molex to P4) adapters to get proper power to the board.

Wife's build: Amethyst - Ryzen 9 3900X, 32GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-3200, ASUS Prime X570-P, EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 12GB, Corsair Obsidian 750D, Corsair RM1000 (yellow label)

My build: Mira - Ryzen 7 3700X, 32GB EVGA DDR4-3200, ASUS Prime X470-PRO, EVGA RTX 3070 XC3, beQuiet Dark Base 900, EVGA 1000 G6

Hey at least you know it's alive. That's what matters. Now you can plan everything else from that point.
