The Build Log

Backstory: This time last year I built a coding/gaming computer (4960k/GTX970). Initially I was very happy with it but after moving houses and not using it as much, I sold it too a buddy who was looking to upgrade his PC. Well after about 6 months of not having a PC (beside my rMBP) I've gotten the itch again and have decided to build a more powerful PC with a smaller footprint than my previous two. This is how mitochondria AKA "Mito" was born.

 

Purpose: I want a solid Gaming/Coding/Photography workstation in a MiniITX form factor.

 

Computer Build

- Intel i5 6600K

- Asus Z170I Pro Gaming Motherboard

- Evga GTX 970 (Blower Style)

- 16GB of GSkill TridentZ DDR4 3200

- M.2 Samsung 850 EVO 500GB

- Silverstone 600W SFX PSU

- Thermaltake Core V1 Case (Ncase M1 reserved ETA: May 25,2016)

 

Peripherals

- Asus 24 in. 144hz monitor

- Vortex Pok3R Mx-Clears keyboard

- Logitech G502 mouse

- Sennheiser Game One Headphones

- Cheap Altec Lansing speakers

 

Upgrades to be done

- Custom sleeve and shorten cables

- Paint Mobo heatsinks to match theme

- Paint RAM Heatsinks

- Replace Brown/Beige Noctua fans with redux Black/Grey fans

- Powdercoat NCase to matte Grey.

Yeah buddy! I was looking at the V1 Core thinking about how small it is and just imagining how much smaller it can get with the NCase!
