That Windows update you talked about, did it have anything to do with display drivers? Or was it some cumulative update?

 

Have you tried the 'auto/reset' setting on your monitor? Have you tried the other DVI port on the GPU?

Yes and yes, i have googled it for the past half hour and it appears the only thing it could be is a defective cable, lemme see what i can do to get that new cable

If you could find any kind of hardware store, even the ones that just have cables and stuff and aren't really focused on PCs, you could probably find one. DVI cables are pretty common, but in this case you could even grab a VGA cable if you found one.

Could be the adapter itself. Or a software issue.

I may have found another issue, the resolution options i am getting are for 4:3 Aspect Ratios i need 16:10

yea that definatly sounds like an adapter problem... you might have to bite the bullet and buy a new dvi cable for like $5
