what if all the consoles were like 5k USD and had like 128 gigs of ddr4 with 4 titan x's and like dual xeons, THat would be hilarious and I swear all those console peasants would still buy it and like Glourious Pc master race would truly be cheaper

You'd have to be pretty ignorant to believe this.  Like, you would have to have zero understanding of the console market to think this.  Do you?  The low cost of getting into console gaming is one of it's major attractors.  They're like $399 new and well into their service life they fall to $199.  Even the PS3 had a HUGE issue selling units early on when it rolled out at $599.  There's literally no reason to think that consoles would sell enmass if they were $5000.

I think the main selling point of consoles is the low cost of entry, although games tend to cost a bit more.  For the casual gamer, they aren't gonna be purchasing that many games so the total spent on these systems will always be lower than a PC.

The Neo Geo AES was $649 upon it's US release in 1991, that's about $1000 if you account for inflation from then to today.  It was stupid CRAZY powerful, identical to the Neo Geo MVS arcade hardware.  ...Yeah, that didn't sell well either.
