So outputting the file into the same game SSD would be okay? I can see how that make sense as long as the recording software isnt being read while gameplay is written.

I think I know the answer to this, but would an External HDD work or would result in dropped frames?

External HDD would result in worse write speeds so yea

If you want to, outputting to the same game SSD/HDD should be fine

Hello Forum!

I tried to check other subforums to see where my question would be appropriate but I will post it here and see if I get some insight.

So I started a podcast for myself and my friends and I decided to use gameplay as a visual background while audio is the podcast.

I do have dxtory, Fraps, and OBS just in case a game doesn't play well with one of those programs. My question is where should I output the raw footage?

I have 2 SSDs; one for OS and general programs while the 2nd one is just games. Should I go for a 3rd HDD strictly for recording or is there an easier way to do it?

Thanks!

Anywhere  except where the recording programs are installed

Well it doesn't hurt to try it out. If worse comes to worse, I can just install another HDD I have lying around and just deal with the extra cables and routing. Thanks!
