Hello! I need recommendations on a build I am currently working on please,

1. Budget & Location

$1,500 USD is what I would like to spend on this build. Need mouse and keyboard still, can be slightly over budget with adding keyboard and mouse.

2. Aim

Purpose for this build is gaming. Running games on 1080p around 60 fps on games such as Overwatch, FarCry, Battlefield, Terra, and Mobas.

3. Monitors

One monitor at 1080p

4. Peripherals

I do also need a gaming mechanical keyboard and a good gaming mouse, any recommendations would be good that will not break the budget by too much.

5. Why are you upgrading?

Need a new gaming computer.

Here is the pcpartpicker link as of now: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RrXcQ7

Thank you for all and any help/recommendations!

Here's what I came up with. I changed a few parts including the windows license. Added 980 from 970 and add a newer skylake 6600k instead of the 4790k. Also opted for a 480 gb ssd rather than an expensive 250 gb. (performance is give or take the same) Also changed the windows price to 30 bucks which you can get from kinguin.

(btw it's legit not a scam)   http://www.kinguin.net/category/19429/windows-10-professional-oem-key/

If you swap the 970 for a 390, its cheaper and has a bit better performance (unless you need nvidia features). Do you really need a DVD writer these days? Everything else looks great, though you could swap the AIO for an H7 to save a bit there. My recommendation for the monitor is this: IPS, 24 in, thin bezels. For the mouse, the g502 is probably hte most widely recommended. Finally, the keyboard. I'd say get a Ducy One - it has better build quality than major brands like razer, cm, or corsair. If you want RGB, then Ducky Shine 5,

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

Go Skylake and get a 980 Ti.

What is the main difference between the i7 4790k and the 6700k? Isn't the 4790k better in performance? Or am I wrong, I'm not sure what I am missing since everyone on this thread recommended the Skylake series. According to Cpu Boss, the 4790k seems better all around.

Also, shouldn't the Skylake and 4790k be liquid cooled?  Or is it also just overkill and unnecessary?  Thank you for your help!

Nvidia isn't necessary, but I would like to stick with it because of problems I've heard of with amd that I would just like to avoid. and dvd writer is mostly for windows installation. Thank you for that monitor recommendation, I do like it alot! Thanks!

Thank you for your help!

If so, what is the Nvida new gpu and price range?

Just look it up. basically, yes its a new series that will almost certainly have a significant jump in performace due to the die shrink. From the rumors/leaks ive been hearing, nvidia will be releasing the 970/980 (possibly 980 ti) replacement mid to late june while amd will release the 490/490x late june.

The lists others are suggesting is A LOT more expensive for marginally better performance in 1080p gaming. You should really consider if you have any use case for those top end components.

I feel that way too. I'm not sure how much it will actually benefit from DDR4 and Skylake. I know they are a lot more expensive also.

No point in buying last gen (Haswell) when you can get a Skylake build for the same sort of money.
