hdd weird drive failure

in my system i have this 1tb barracuda drive. And its been acting strange lately sometimes when i launche my system it doesent show up under computer. but when i restart my system it shows up again. is this a sign that my drive will die soon? should i backup all my data?

tbh everyone with valuable data on their pc should be backing up their stuff regularly. As for the drive, could be a sign of failure if it hasn't done this before. How long have you had it?

first, check if the cable is loose. If not, back up it could be a slowly dying drive. You can use a software like Crystal Disk Mark to see if the drive is good o nah

probably getting to the end of its life, they normally last about 4 years
