Is it risky modding the phone and making the apple logo light up? Is it expensive/easy?

As far as I know, you can't make the logo light up? It is engraved into the aluminium, isn't it?

I haven't actually done the process, but from what I've seen, it appears to be pretty easy. Just make sure you're gentle, and make sure to discharge static before you begin. In terms of price, I believe a lighting kit will set you back $20 max. Quite honestly, for the look it achieves, I think it's worth it.

Not on the new phones, on the 5S or 6 and up it's custom CNCed

I've done it on my 5S. It is a little risky if you aren't careful, and there's a chance you will destroy the backlight. Also, it took a while for me to find a seller for the lighting kit.
