is their a way to add my wifi range extender to the network with out having a nother wifi name pop up?

I don't really recommend range extenders as they tend to halve the speeds compared to access points, which would be the best choice. You can setup the AP's to have the same SSID and have device roam between them and automatically switch.

This. If you have a second router and configure the WiFi correctly (preferably use different channels for each AP) it will function identically as if you are connecting to your main router.

Almost as cool as my temps

no.

And why does nearly EVERYONE say get another 'wifi router'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You do not need another router, you my be getting for the ap but you might as well just get a better ap for the same price!

I recommend a ubiquiti unifi ap ac (which ever is best for you in the range).

I drew you a picture :)

Two bad routers will likely still have better range than one good one, particularly if the user particularly wants to target 2 specific areas for better WiFi range rather than just having one central router and hoping the WiFi range stretches all over.

That is assuming that his current router is bad - OP might already have a very nice router.

if the 'idk who we are talking about' has already the routers, fine but if you don't you might as well get an ap as you will get more feature for the money or the same features for the less money.

Yes, having more ap is better than having one better ap as devices have to communicate back to the ap.

For example, the ubiquiti unifi ap ac range (- LR) on performance goes like this:

(Best to least good)

2 PROs > 2 LITEs > 1 PRO > 1 LITE.

You will get better coverage with 2 lites and with one pro as the device connected can talk back easier.

I have no doubt they perform well, but man they're expensive.

Unless it's a mansion, something like an AC68u would perform great at a much lower cost. OP didn't mention upgrading the router though, he just asked about extenders
