Mechanical keyboard ping sound

Hi guys,

I recently purchased Corsair Vengence K70 cherry mx red. The weird thing is there are some ping sound in some of the buttons. Originally only 3 buttons but somehow more buttons getting this ping sound.

Its hard to describe how ping sound really is, but it sounds like a spring that is pressed and then released, its like "thung" sound.

Its somehow can be annoying when you type something and there is this "thung" spring sound coming from your fingertips.

Is this normal?

Does alumiinium plate has has anything to do with this? If yes, how come no reviews that discuss this issue?

Is this a considered defects?

I would appreciate any feedback guys.

Thank you,

Luke

Can you record it? Some sounds are intentional as it is a mechanical but this is kinda vague.

Yes something like that but not that loud. Another video i found - use head phones so you can clearly hear the ping sound :

Is this a defect? does aluminium affect this?

From Dave's video, here was a comment

The ping shown on the video that affects one or few switches can be observed in many cherry boards, and it's easy to fix with a minimal skill in soldering.

The echoing/ringing sound that affects the whole board is more a filco only problem, and is not so easy to fix, looking more as a project flaw than an assembly issue.

Ok. But firstly, i checked there are only 3 keys has this issue. Now its like, 7. MEan the solder open up or something?

Assembly problem. Check with Corsair to see if you can RMA, but I hear Corsair's RMA service is kinda bad. But either way try!
