£1000 Budget

BenGill

I have around £1000 that I can spend on a new setup. I would prefer a desktop, but if I can get a laptop that's noticeably better then I would go for it.

I need something that can run pretty much any current game at decent settings and also something relatively future proof and can cover me for any games that are released in the next few years.

Note: if it is a desktop I will also need to buy a keyboard and monitor.

Thanks

I made 2, one has a 970 and one has a 960. both are good GPUs but if you really want to game well than the 970 is better. If you could increase you budget you should also upgrade your powersupply or just take 8gb or ram instead of 16gb.

960 http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WzdWMp

For gaming you really want a desktop. You'd have to pay at least twice as much for a laptop with similar horsepower.

Edit: Forgot the SSD first.

I have an amd FX 8320 and it can easily handle all of the games I play and can also edit videos smoothly, and I did not see that he said he had 1000 pounds but the computer I listed is still great and I already have one like it and I have no problems.

Might not be the best benchmarks, but they work:

Lel. The Ducky is not the keyboard but a wrist rest, the BX200 is one of the very worst performing SSDs out there and your display is considerably worse and not IPS. Fantastic.

I am not saying the amd FX 8320 is a better CPU but it is a great "Budget" Cpu and I persoonally don't need a 4790K for gaming.

I believe the V300 has the title of the worst SSDs. I´ve heard nothing about the BX200 being ¨one of the worst¨, care to put your money where you mouth is? And I know shit about displays, so your probably right about that. And that ducky looks like a keyboard to me.

Fair enough, but it doesn´t change the fact that AM3 is dead, and that it´s IPC is appalling.

Click the link, it is a wrist rest. As for the BX200:

I´m aware that it slows down considerably when writing large files to it, that being said it´s much more cost effective, and far from the ¨Worst¨ SSD. As for the Keyboard, huh. Weird.

More cost effective than a Sandisk SSD Plus? I don't know. If you don't mind a TLC SSD the Trion 150 would be a better choice.
