Question about SSD with Recording

I have a 60gb boot os I use. It's working fine

 

I also have a 80gb hdd I use to record 720p video games on. I use DXTory as well... DXtory has a feature where you can record the videos on a seperate hard drive. In this case, i'll be using the 80gb one I have. 

 

My question is, will this rape the life of my SSD? Even though, I'm not saving onto the SSD, but it's still in-use? If that makes sense, sorry i'm a bit new to ssd's & whatnot.

The SSD should be fine they can handle a ton of torture also Dafuq man a 80Gb HDD just toss that crap out.

If you're not saving to the SSD, you should be fine.

 

Reading from the SSD does absolutely no (or very little) wear, writing to an SSD does.

Or just give them a final use and use them as coastars. 'Zwangsarbeit' and 'Final Solution' if you will.

Modern ssds will likely last longer than you need them to.
