So my grandma's computer is a pain. She called me over to help her fix it, and guess what the problem was? WINDOWS 10! Thanks Microsoft! Anyways, I reverted it back to 7 because I didn't feel like teaching her how to use a new operating system. Once I reverted it, I noticed that the Internet Explorer icon was missing. On top of that, multiple websites wouldn't display everything properly. I wanted to reinstall IE, so naturally I uninstalled it. And so the latest browser was then IE 10. Great. I tried to reinstall IE 11 and got this error. Not great. I went around looking at articles on this error, and it said to uninstall all the way back to IE 8, so that's what I did. Now I'm at IE 8, and I still get the same error. As far as I know, everything should be compatible, but the update is just being annoying. I tried installing it through Windows Update, I tried the installer from Microsoft, and I tried the offline installer. They all give me the same error. I tried almost everything I know that will work so far. I'm desperate. Please offer insight.

It's Windows 7 SP1 if you were wondering.

And yes, I know Chrome exists, but I want to fix this now that I've spent so much time on it :P

Firefox? For the love of god please don't use IE.

Lol, I know, I know, but it's what my grandma is familiar with and I really don't feel like teaching her how to use a new browser.

Must have IE9 hidden somewhere in the update list. uninstall that too

I checked in Windows Update for any versions of Internet Explorer and programs and features lists IE8, so I don't think so.
