Hi all, wow It has been a wile since I posted something on this forum

I just Installed a RAM upgrade in my system and had to remove my CPU fan from the cooler.

The cooler is the silent version of the 212 evo from CM

and while removing the fan I banged the tower a bit and it moved out of alignment.

the tower had always had a bit of wiggle this is normal for this cooler because of the mounting method of the tower

I have had my system for about a year now and I was wondering

Is it bad that I unintentionally wiggled the tower?

has the Thermal Paste created air pockets because of the wiggling?

because the thermal paste is a bit older now

Thanks for reading

hope you have a Fabulous day! ;-)

i would suggest maybe applying new thermal paste first of all and secondly try and see if you can tighten down your screws anymore because your screws may of come lose after knocking it

First of all thanks for your reply, I want to start of by saying: that it was just the regular wiggle the cooler had and I heard some people installing it by wiggling it on the thermal paste. and as I do not have any spare thermal paste anymore I really hoped it would not be a probleem. the screws are still very secure and the knock was very minimal.

Yeah a bit of wiggle is totally fine. I'd hate to think what the mounting pressure would do if you tightened up till it didn't wiggle.

So long as it isn't lifting up then it's fine
