I would avoid the Evo 212 if I was you, its out done by the Cryorig H7 for less and is on par with the M9i which costs almost 10 pounds less. Its also done out by the Be Quiet! Pure Rock which also costs less. For your budget I would go with a Cryorig H7 if you have to stay under 40 or if you can spare a few more pounds I would go for a Phantek TCDX12. Also I hate to break this to you but you would want a better board for overclocking, that one is lacking a vrm heatsink and has a low power phase count, not something you want for overclocking.

How do the acoustics compare though? I've installed a couple 212 EVOs for friends and I can't hear them over the case fans at load.

The H7 and Pure Rock and the Phantek cooler are all quieter than the Evo 212.

Good stuff, though the Pure Rock averages ~$5 more stateside when you include shipping. I'd say it's worth it considering the noise difference.

Yup plus it has better performance and it isn't a Evo 212 that is in so many builds and imo looks better.

I'm a fan of the Shadow Rock Slim when it comes to value + acoustics with good performance. Put it around 8V load 7V or less idle for great results. You might also want to consider top flow coolers if you have inadequate cooling on your motherboard
