Confusion with screen resolution

Go to solution Solved by vanished,

I've heard webpage resolution checkers can be unreliable.  Since it's a 4K screen, are you by any chance using scaling above 100%?  I've heard that can affect the site.

Hello, I went through 2 websites where it identifies your display resolution. It identified my screen resolution as 2560 by 1440. I got confused by this because I own an Acer XB280HK which has an maximum resolution of 3840 by 2160. I checked my display settings and it is using that current resolution. I'm wondering why the websites resulted in a lower resolution.

These are the two websites I checked from:

Maybe the browser is tricking the site for some reason. Did you try other browsers?

What display adapter are you using?

Try going into your graphics card's settings to scale up the rez like amd's crimson or geforce experience

I'm using nvidia GTX980Ti

I did went to the aspect ratio in the nvidia control and it did say 3840 by 2160.

When I launch games, such as Rocket League or GTA, it does scale as UHD.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Yeah, the windows automatically sets the scaling at 150% for default in 4k. I just did what you said and now it actually shows up the maximum resolution for my monitor! Thank you for the clarification!
