I've been wondering if my RAM usage was a bit abnormal. I've been RAM preview clips at half resolution and I can only render about 30ish seconds of video before I hit my cap that I've allowed After Effects to use (10 GB). I have 16 GB total. If this is normal, should I let After Effects have access to all my RAM?

It's good to make sure you have a bit of ram available in case AE takes it all and your system hiccups.

High ram usage is very normal in AE unless what you're doing is very light for 10GB.

Well pretty much there is text, an image that changes colors and 6 audio spectrums precomposed into 1, is that considered light? I honestly wouldn't know,

Hmm, is AE showing an error due to lack of ram or is it just using more than expected?

Nothing wrong, I'm just wondering if its supposed to use this much RAM for this project.

It'll use as much ram as possible to improve performance as long as it's available.
