Work(gaming) build

Hi folks,

I'm planning on buying a new pc after around 7 years (this is basically my old baby boy http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Acaelus02/saved/3MNKHx ) and well i got 2 different choices.

1. Budget & Location

USD1300, Lima, Perú (Hot and Humid climate, Limited Choice for Parts)

2. Aim

Mostly gaming but maybe i could work with it( programs like autocad(2D), corel draw and stuft).

3. Monitors

One monitor, 1080p i'm not sure witch yet (60+fps)

4. Peripherals

i already have a gaming mouse and probably will get the mechanical keyboard by the end of the year.

5. Why are you upgrading?

well... 7 years old pc i dont see why not.

i'll be using the prices i get here.

Build 1

This is a 4th generation intel build

Both are great builds! I suggest going with the 6th generation, because for a little more you can get better speeds (than the 4th generation).

Best of luck,

Scott :)

Whatever you do don't buy a T2. There are better options (212 evo) for a little more cash.

I'd say option 2, but get the 212 EVO for CPU cooler and get an HDD as that SSD won't last long. Also, side note, that case comes with 2x120mm (exhaust) fans. So you should pick up 2 more for the front in order to get some actual air flow.

Well the ssd is brand new so I believe it will work for a good time and I think I also have a spare hdd.

I was recommended a g750m cooler master psu.(112USD here in Peru)

And about the cooler this are the one that are available near me http://www.memorykings.com.pe/listados/103/refrigeracion-cooler-cpu-air-series-intel-y-amd-gt-gt-alta-gama-gaming

Pretty good. Go for the skylake build

  • Dont cheap out on the cooler. Go for at least somthing like a hyper 212 evo or a BeQuiet shadow rock 2
  • get a mass storage drive to go with that SSD. Maybe a 1tb WD blue
  • the power supply is ok, however, you could go lower wattage and better. I'd reccomend it
  • grab two fans for that case. It only comes with two exhaust. Two 140mm at the front would be good.
  • Dual 4gb stick would be better than a single 8gb

I think if I search deeper I might found a better cooler.

Which power supply would you recommend me

And I'm planning to upgrade to 16 gb later so I believe 2x4gb ram won't work

  • Yeah you should really look for a better cooler
  • maybe a 500-650w 80plus gold supply. I'm not sure what is available where you live
  • it will work. The motherboard has 4 slots for ram. You can grab another 2x4gb kit and end up with a 4x4gb kit, ending up with 16gb

Both are very good builds. I would personally go with the 6th generation build. But, I would make one change to it. Instead of a 750W 80+ bronze certified power supply, I would go with a 750W 80+ gold certified power supply. Other than that, it looks pretty good. Nice work! :)
