So, reading through some articles about Marshmallow, I saw that when you insert an SD card, it is supposed to ask you if you want to use it as external storage, or to format it as internal storage. However, my Note 4 doesn't do that. It simply asks if I want to explore or unmount it. Anyone else with the Note 4 have this issue? Is it just something Samsung removed?

typically the SD card needs to be in exFAT file system

verify with a PC and see if the SD is already in the format.

most SD cards above a certain capacity comes pre-formatted in exFAT

Well, from what I've seen, when you insert the card, Android is supposed to ask if you want to format it, and how (whether you want to use it as portable storage, or as an extension of the internal storage)
