Potential ram issues with games?

Hi guys,

So I'm not sure whether this is an issue or not, but all my games only seem to be using 2-3gb of ram, games like the division and arma 3, despite their system requirements saying they need 8gb. 

Specs: 

i7 4790k

gtx 970

16gb 1866mhz ddr3 hyperx fury.

 

On a side note, can anyone tell me why arma 3 uses like 30% of my cpu, 50% of my gpu and only a few gig of ram, yet still runs like shit?

You playing arma 3 on multiplayer? Since nearly everyone got bad performance in multiplayer.

Games doesnt need that exact amount of ram. It will change from time to time, depending on what ur doing ingame.

Most games only use what they need. While the system requirements may say 8gb that may only be required in cone section of the game for one scene or whatever. Nothing to worry about.
