What is your preference for protecting your phones? I've always purchased the ~$100 warranty from the first iPhone in 2007, to my first android phone (the Incredible) to the iPhone SE I have now and all the phones I had in between. I like feeling the designs of the phone rather than the $20-30 TPU or thin leather case. Some phones I never used the warranty and some I did but I always hated the feel of cases.

Well the Apple Care Warranty only discounts the price for repair if you drop it by accident right?

I've always used a case and it doesn't bother me. I just don't want to worry about breaking it.

Correct, though I've found Apple's to be the best to be honest. It's $99 upfront for Applecare+ and then $79 per incident for up to two incidences. So it's really $180 for one break and $250 for two. Though when you do eventually need to use it, you walk into the apple store and out that day with a new iPhone.

Squaretrade is another option but they do a monthly payment. You end up spending $5 a month and then $99 per break. That's $120 for the same two years Apple gives you for $99 and they have a higher deductible fee. And you need to mail the phone in and wait rather than replacing it that day.

Carriers all usually do the $2 per month add on to your bill with a $200 deductible each time.

Just using a case is way cheaper but I hate cases.
