Will this bottleneck?

So i just built a new PC which has an i5 6600k, 16gb ram and a z170 mobo, i dont have enough money for a gpu right now but would it be safe if i take my 2 year old R7 260x gpu from my old computer and run it in this pc for about a year or so until i get a new GPU

Safe yes. Performance wont be great, but it wont cause any damage

really only worry if the GPU is way higher/newer than the CPU. a good cpu with a shit GPU will be fine

Well yes it will be a bottleneck, but if you're planning on upgrading in the future there's no issue with it. Still better than onboard graphics.

You're not damaging any of your components with the 260x. The only thing is that, until you upgrade your gpu, your pc won't be able to use its full potential on gpu-heavy games (which are most of them) and processes.
