I just finished the 51 episodes of full metal alchemist. Then i saw the brotherhood version and i was watching the first episode and i was quite confused about what was happening in it. What is the difference between the two and is it really worth watching.

Anime is usually based off of Manga (japanese comic books).

The first FMA went off on it's own story, which imo, was very stupid compared to the Brotherhood story that almost completely copied the Manga. 

And it is an epic story. 

Things will happen a lot faster in Brotherhood if you watch it. And eventually it will get to a point where it is nothing like the original series. 

The reason they did that to the original series is because the Manga was not finished and the Anime was being produced too fast, so they made up their own story rather than waiting/going on haitus. 

The differences are huge between the two. I have watched both, and imo, FMA is good. Brotherhood is absolutely awesome. When comparing them though, the original is horrible.

i watched the 1st episode of brothehood after the serires 1 ended and for some reason i never watched anymore

As an Otaku, I recommend that you eventually go back and watch it in it's entirety. It is worth it. 

I rank Brotherhood up there with Hellsing Ultimate OVA, Black Lagoon, among other anime that I believe are of high quality.

Completely wrong. In fact, the evil bad guy man woman she person thing you speak of does not exist in Brotherhood. At all.

And yes, there is quite a bit more of Armstrong and his glorious mucle-y art. :)

I rank Brotherhood up there with Hellsing Ultimate OVA, Black Lagoon, among other anime that I believe are of high quality.

I know the feeling as I only have time for the staples. One Piece, Hunter X Hunter, and Blood Lad currently. :( 3 episodes a week at best.

Without a doubt. The art style is better. The story line is far more compelling. The "new" characters are 10 cases of awesome, and the fights are balls to the wall amazing. 

You need to watch it. :P

can i be counted as an otaku ive read over 50 manga series and watched over 70 anime still extending??????????????????????????????????????

That is one requirement. Do you own at least one article of legitimate japanese merchandise? Do you actively sacrifice other hobbies to allow your anime/manga one to exist?

Just tell your father that school is about 3.14159 times more useful and time consuming then tabla, honestly sorry if you take it the wrong way but what the hell are you gonna gain from doing tabla compared to your education, you are doing more then one science and it would be wrong to waste time on that.

I watched Brotherhood first and watched the first series after, I liked Brotherhood so much more. The storyline was more epic and mind blowing than the first which was more predictable. Edward is really annoying to me in the first series as well.

well my teacher is a disciple from the GREAT ravi shankaar 

and its also there so i can "take my stress out by playing it" some how making my brain think is reveling stress when i can play games 

and then i can use it as a "side career to teach people  £40/hr when i become a pro"
