may seem silly..noticed that this power unit comes with another style of plug to connect to the wall unlike all the other ones from the uk can i easily change the plug to a uk version without it causing problems ?

You can purchase a regular IEC to UK plug cable as a replacement it would be less work and most likely cheaper:

Yeah you can do that as long as they are super thin cables, usually you want at least 18AWG or ideally 16AWG for larger wattages.
