data migration

Hi. I bought this ssd (Intel 535 SSD 240GB SATA-600 2,5) and want to migrate windows to my ssd from my hdd, but when I use the intel data migration sofware I cant pick the ssd, its blacked out.

would be smarter to just do a fresh install, cleaner and less chance of failing

You probably need to format the SSD.

 

In windows 10 (or 8 I think), you can right click the start menu, select 'Disk management', find your SSD (it should have a black bar while your HDD has a blue bar with one or more sections)

 

Right click the SSD, select 'New Simple Volume'

 

It should be usable after that.
