How can you say that dude? Any source? :)

I have the 650i, which has a better fan. The i series uses fluid dynamic bearings while the x series uses rifle bearings.

The fan on the Seasonic unit is made by Sanyo Denki, a reputable manufacturer.

If you have to downgrade a component of your pc in order to get a better psu, I would not do it.The 650x is a great psu

nothing will be downgraded.

I don't care about the price haha I just want to know which is better. The corsair one is Gold rated and the Seasonic is plat

You should care about the price, as there are various of other units in a particular price point that may be better suited for your build.

For example, let say you are buying from Newegg. The Seasonic 660 XP2 is $139.99+$3.99 Shipping (with a $15 MIR). You could get the Corsair AX760 for $124.99 with promo shipped (with a $30 MIR), and it's based on the same XP2 platform as the Seasonic.

The San Ace 2BB fan in the Seasonic is certainly a reliable, high quality one. It can be more subjective to bearing noises at lower RPMs (a distinctive tick sound of the metal bearings hitting each other) and may be noisier at higher loads (fan ramped up harder). The bearing noises was one of the reason why decides to upgrade all of their current models to FDB, but I'm not sure whether or not the transition had been completed as well as the store you will be buying from will have the change. http://seasonic.com/seasonic-to-introduce-new-fdb-fans/

I would suggest looking for an more affordable, but still high-end PSU (the RMx is indeed a high-end PSU) and used the money saved to upgrade to the 6600K and a Z170 motherboard so you could make used of that aftermarket cooler and overclock?

I'm choosing between the RM650x and Seasonic P-660 Platinum. Any suggestions on what should I get and why?

They're both so good there's a point of diminishing returns. Just get the cheapest.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
