How is this a bad psu?https://www.techpowerup.com/mobile/reviews/EVGA/600B/11.html

This shows a good result overall, only crossload 1 had failed ripple on the 5v rail.

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-BRONZE-Continuous-Warranty-100-B1-0600-KR/dp/B00EON40CS

4.6 out of 5 stars with 1109 ppl, 78% 5 stars and 11% 4 stars

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=351

500w counterpart, got 8.4 score by johnny

So i really don't see how this is bad.

@STRMfrmXMN will explain why JG's testing is irrelevant

As for Crossload failure - that is a big deal as out of spec voltage can kill components

Crossload 1 test is where they loaded the 5v and 3.3v rails to max and leave the 12v alone. What part of the rig looks like it'll do that?

It's a low chance but possible - if the OP wants to go for looks with LEDs and other molex devices.

That gpu and cpu will keep the 12v rail up, crossload 1 won't happen unless you're using an old pentium rig. Most likely the psu will stay in 30-80% load- none of which failed ripple.

Actually, in idle - the +12V rail will be under less than 10% load so that's essentially Crossload

Well his testing is thorough but he does give too much credit to value which is why that EVGA scores about as good as a Corsair RM which is kinda backwards. The RM is pretty good (not the best) but is far better than the 500B.

I'd permit pairing a GTX 960 with a 500B but nothing more heat producing or power hungry than that as, if you're getting a GPU that powerful, you really can afford a better PSU.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

And in this case the 305W no-name with a 950 and i3?

Maybe if they had a 750ti or some other GPU that didn't require external power, but for this, just gonna pass on the fire hazards.

You can, just ask for parts. @herman mcpootis has done a build for you. Swap the PSU with a better one if you don't like it and everything will be great.

I need S340. But more Define S'ish
