Hey all, I have a EVGA GTX 970 SSC with a very small overclock to 1504MZ (+100) on the core and only +50 on the memory. I haven't started overclocking until just recently and noticed a that GTAV doesn't like when I have any overclock on the memory or the core. I see flashes of red every few seconds. It is only like this on GTAV and I have removed all of my other OCs and it only happens when when the GPU is oc'd. No other game or benchmark has this issue. Any thoughts?

Then just leave it at stock :( My GTX 770 has the same types of problems, just happens to be that it doesnt like being pushed far. I think the most I was able to get out of my core was like +45 or something LOL.

EDIT: Also, what driver, out of curiosity? If GTA is the only issue, then the driver and the OC just may not be agreeing with GTA.

Are you using the most recent drivers? Have you tried reverting to an older, stable version?

Likely it's just the OC is bad and, for whatever reason, GTA has more problems with it than other benchmarks/stress tests.

Have you done a hardcore burn in with a good GPU stress test program?

"Normandy" i7 4790K - GTX 970 - Phantom 410 (Gun metal) - Z97 Extreme4 (asrock) - 128GB Crucial SSD - 1TB WD HDD - H60 Refurb. - 7 case fans | G710+ Keyboard, G230 Headset, Acer GN246HL Monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.
