Not really sure if this is the best place to ask for Hackintosh advice, I've made a post on tonymacx86 as well, but I thought I'd post here too since the community is a hell of a lot bigger...

So I thought about Hackintoshing a while ago, but I never had the time, or access to a system running OS X to make the UniBeast installation... About two days ago I managed to borrow a friends Mac to make the installation media, and I've been messing on trying to get my system to work ever since..

So far I've flashed my BIOS to an older version that's supposed to work (2.40) however I wasn't able to flash the 'modded' BIOS since I haven't been able to download it,the website hosting the modded BIOS appears to be non-existent now. There's dead links to http://www.tonymacx86.com/dsdt/47397-msi-asrock-foxconn-1155-patched-bios-thread.html and http://biosrepo.wordpress.com/asrock/ which was part of the fix to a lot of peoples problems...

Despite that I managed to run the OS X installer and install the OS, with a few hitches.

In terms of hardware; everything other than my Ethernet and Audio appears to be working - my GPU is working out of the box which surprised me. On top of Ethernet and Audio not working, I've been unable to successfully install the bootloader both through MultiBeast and install manually using the Clover installer. Neither installers have errors, they just don't allow my system to boot OS X without having my flash drive inserted into the PC.

I've tried installing kexts for ethernet and audio using both Easy Kext Installer and Kext Wizard; both had no affect. I have a feeling that this is all due to me being unable to flash the bios, I'm still new to Hackintoshing and OS X for that matter, so this is still kind of new to me!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just a 2x8GB kit of 1333MHz RAM that I had, some crappy brand.. Shouldn't be the issue though should it?

That doesn't matter unless you're putting the memory in a real Mac.

On my first hackintosh, I never figured this out so I just got into he habit of leaving my install drive plugged in all the time and just habitually held F12 to get into the boot options, then deal with the chimeara boot loader. But there's a boot option, I think it's called optimized boot, hat you can add that allow you to boot directly off your internal drive without your install media. I'm looking right now on tonymac, I'll find it.

Pretty sure it's called basic boot options. Try that.

Also, did you install a DSDT? I did a quick search for your board on tonymac and all the posts on the first page of the search are regarding help with DSDTs and audio.

The hell is that? Is that on Tonymacx86 or inside my bootloader/OS?

It's in multibeast under boot options, but I think you can manually add it to your boot.plist

OK.. The bootloader is fixed, now onto Ethernet and Audio! xD
