Geforce GTX 760 Overheating

i have had my computer for 15 months and 4 months ago my gpu has been overheating as it is idling  at 45 c and when i play a game (arma 3 ) to get it below 85 i have to under-clock it and run my fans at 100%.if it gets higher than 85 it will shut down my computer i have no idea why.

check the heatsink for dust and maybe try replacing the thermal paste

Well, that means your GPU is doing its job and shutting down the system before it reaches its maximum operating temperature.

Yeah just cleaned out all of the dust in and on my gpu and has lowered the temps a little bit so im going to replace the thermal paste what one do you recommend?
