I've got a T4 on my q6700 currently, but I've been looking at some Corsair liquid coolers, very appealing.

I have space for one with 2 fans on the top of my case, so was thinking about an H100i? Or H60 maybe if I don't want to spend that much.

But I don't know anything about this kind of cooling, so I have no experience with it..

I'm kind of worried about upkeep though, I don't understand how they work, or what I need exactly to get it going. But hoping everything

I'd need would just come in box. But really, is it worth it? Right now with an overclock using my T4, I see idle 37c (ish) and under load

(not stress testing, just gaming, video rendering, etc.) I see around 62c. Sometimes it'll hit 68, but nothing crashes.

What do you guys think though?

Ryzen 7 2700x, MSI Gaming X RX 480 8gb, Asus ROG X470 Gaming, 2x8gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000, 120gb Kingston SSD (Boot) + 1TB Seagate Barracuda.

I use the H115i GTX for my i7-6700k and its overclocked to 4.9ghz and my idle temps are around 20c to 28c and load is around 40c since I have my corsair link set to change colors at 45c but it has never done it. The cooler even got my cpu to an idle temp of 16c :)

The AIOs like the corsair and nzxt kraken are all maintenance free. You set them up and tour good to go. I do recommend replacing the thermal paste if you want a stronger connection but, the original one should do just fine. What size of fans are you running in the top of your case? 120 or 140 mm?

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

68c isn't bad temperatures, before I got my AIO my temps were up to 98c when rendering. (Stock cooler i7-4790k)

Usually there's pretty much no upkeep, other than general maintenance with dust and all that, just like an air cooler. It's all closed in so the liquid itself is normally fine.

Also the Cryorig A40 is what I use and I got it for a good deal. It's a Hybrid cooler. Very good one too.

1. those cooler would be worth 3 times your cpu.

2. your temps are fine, no reason to spend cash

3.Those core 2 quads are getting a bit old, time to get an i5 while you can still

get some cash for your mobo, cpu+ram

Yea I hear you on that, I'm going to get a 4690k eventually, or the 8350 if I just can't afford an i5.

But yea I have a GTX 960, so my cpu is quite a bottleneck, so I intend on upgrading anyways. But I have the t4 I can use on whatever cpu I upgrade, but I'm curious if it's worth switching that out when the time comes.

I was just using my Q6700 temps as reference, because to me it seems like the T4 would do an alright job anyways .-.

Okay appreciate the information :D And I don't have fans on it, I thought the cooler came with it D:

My case is an enermaxx ostrogg, it has a grill on the top with 16 screw holes. 8 on the very outer edge of the grill (2 fans) and 8 more about a cm further inside the grill.. So possibly supports both 140 and 120mm?

I believe you could go with wither the Corsair series or the Nzxt series. Yours will support 280 mm (2x140mm) and 240mm (2x120mm). I would recommend going with the bigger fans as they spin slower. In the past I've stuck to the Kraken but I'm a little bias towards NZXT ?, so don't let that factor in. There was a time that the Nzxt krakens supported auto mode meaning that they were quiet when at ideal and load when gaming. I believe with the later Corsair link corsair supports that as well. If your going this route beware that all AIO coolers have "pump noise" and to achieve "absolute silence" in a case you'd need to do a full custom loop with tons of surface area, and low rpm fans. For this reason most air coolers are quieter then AIO systems. The direct comparison between a quality air cooler and a AIO water loop is almost non-existant. So in the end its up to how much you want to stick into it. In my personal opinion I think its less stressful on the motherboard and it makes it look a lot cleaner. ? hope this helps.

Alright, thanks for all the information :) I know I could just google these things, but hearing actual opinions from people who have experience is a lot more valuable than the technical crap a Wiki would tell me :b
