Overclocking Question

Would it be possible to overclock a Core i3 6100 with an ASRock H170M-ITX. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't and thanks ahead of time.

You're a couple months late to the party. It used to be possible to overclock non K series skylake chips, but Intel had to shit on everyone's parade and issue a microcode update that prevented users from doing that. They probably saw a massive decrease in sales of the 6600k and 6700k and an increase in the 6600 and 6700.

Even for that you needed a Z170 board.

No, not really...

 

But don't be too upset, that CPU rocks at 3.7GHz and for what you paid, you got a good deal.  You can run, more or less, everything on the market today (with a decent GPU) so you're just fine.
